Soccer players, parents, and associated guests:
New Bern Soccer Association is one of the larger soccer associations in Eastern North Carolina. Recently, in discussions on how to better serve our soccer players, the Association decided to change the name of the club. The new name will be Coastal United Soccer Association, with the abbreviation of CU.
The decision to change from NBASA to CU was carefully considered. As our program has expanded, we have included many families and players living outside of the New Bern area in our play. The new name more accurately reflects our expansion outside of the city of New Bern. Also, the Classic program has been operating under the Coastal United name for some time. The consolidation to one name clarifies the association of our Classic and Recreational programs.
The Association itself will not change despite the name change. New Bern Soccer will continue its previous operations under the Coastal United Soccer Association name. If there are any objections, concerns, or questions regarding the upcoming name transition, please contact the club President David Rosado or Vice President Michael Scoggins at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition, we will have a new website and registration system operated by Blue Sombrero thanks to our partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods. Our new website is www.coastalunited.com.
Starting Fall of 2014, NBASA will have a new name and new look! NBASA will become Coastal United Soccer Association. Check out the new website and get ready to register for upcoming camps, programs, and seasons. You can also follow us on Twitter @CoastalUnited.
